micro stock photography resources - model release forms

A model release form?? why do I need to release a model ??!!!???

OK, so a model release form is not a form that releases a model. model release form is actually a legal form in which the model declares that he/she agreed to be photographed b you, and that they agree that you will sell the pictures. There are other type of release forms where less privileges are granted to the photographer. to be sure that you have a valid model release form, I recommend that you will use one of the release forms provided by one of the big micro stock agencies.

Here are some tips regarding model release forms:

- You only need to have your model sign once - take one of the standard model release forms and make the changes so it is not site-specific, and does not restrict you to one micro stock agency.

- If you are photographing an experienced model, he/she will know what is a model release form. If you are photographing a friend, take the time to explain what is that weird form is. make sure they know what they are signing.

- Lack of model release forms is one of the top reasons for pictures refusals. do not forget to upload your form along with your images.

- You need to model release yourself - if you took a self portrait - sign a model release form, and upload it along with your image

I have collected several links from micro stock sites they will help you get stated:
